I have obtained an MS in Adult Learning, Performance and Development with emphasis in HRM at Drake University in Des Moines, Ia with the hopes of obtaining a position in Human Resources. My husband and I have lived in Des Moines for approx. 5 years and recently sold our house. We are excited about relocating to Kansas City once we have found jobs!! I have been employed with Allied/Nationwide Insurance for the past 5 years in their Agency Commissions/Accounting Dept.

Why did you join KC Young Professionals?

I am interested in networking, meeting new people, HR career opportunities, community events, and volunteering to name a few.

Try contacting Adrian Ulsh or Dave Berthold. Both of them are on this site and are actually accounting recruiters but may be able to direct you to someone else. Did you see Adrian's discussion about mortgage loan processors? I don't know if that's a good fit for you but it might be worth looking into for now...

There are also a few guys from Spencer Reed on here but I don't know if fits for you (I can give you their name as well if you'd like it).

I agree with you 110% on the house, especially since you are not a first time home buyer. There is no reason for you to hurry into purchasing a home if you're not financial, mentally or physically ready. Congrats on knowing your limits - most people are not being so wise right now and has gotten 'us' into a lot of trouble. Even if you choose not to use Webster Team when you are ready to purchase please remember I'm always here to use as a sounding board!

KC is a great place to be! I've lived all over the Midwest and the world and I'm proud to call Kansas City home!

I wish I could give you more help on the job front. If you're not already in contact with some recruiters in KC I may know of a couple (their in mostly accounting) that may be able to direct you to someone else. Just let me know!

Once you get here and settled with your jobs and everything I'd love to chat with you about what Kansas City has to offer and where you might be interested in living long term - if you don't already know.

Welcome Kori, glad you came over! Congrats on selling your house (now we need to get you into on in KC :) ) You'll find that this group is wonderful! I would look though some profiles so find other people in the HR industry or recruiters, everyone is so helpful I don't think you'll have any problem finding a position somewhere!

When do you plan on moving to KC and what brings you here?
