Tell us about yourself.

I am a process engineer, currently working as a Director in Process Excellence with First Data Corporation. The majority of my career has been focused on process improvement and project management. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2002 with a B.A. in Marketing. I worked with The Home Depot, Inc. in Atlanta, GA as an Internal Auditor for several years, focusing on new store development and supply chain security. In 2008, I relocated to Washington D.C to work as a defense contractor with Booz Allen Hamilton. Although my work is very process-based, I find the majority of my time spent facilitating large group discussions and leading cross-functional in large-scale strategic initiatives focused around operational effectiveness. I’m married and my husband is a Commander in the US Navy, as well as a full-time PhD student. I am in an MBA program myself, so we stay VERY busy with work and school. I end up traveling about 80% of the time for work. We’re both marathoners, so we carve out time in our schedules to train together.

Why did you join KC Young Professionals?

I am looking to expand my contacts network with more professionals in the KC area to stay informed on opportunities with companies based in the mid-west or those that have operations in the area. I currently work from home, so my opportunities to network with other professionals in my area of expertise are limited.
