I am an English Professor at Blue River Community College. I have lived in the Kansas City area for three years, but I am originally from North Carolina. I enjoy the outdoors, concerts, restaurants, and of course, the Royals.
Why did you join KC Young Professionals?
I am interested in meeting other people who share my interests in entertainment, travel and food.

I don't know that for certain, but in my experience with other organizations once summer starts it seems harder to get people to commit. Perhaps we should cancel for tomorrow night...I can keep posting and try to get some responses for next month - either a book session or a book club happy hour sort of thing. I still really like that idea! Let me know your preference...
I haven't had any RSVPs. I think we must be getting into summer mode because there hasn't been any chatter on the book club page at all lately. Do you want to go ahead and meet tomorrow night or should I post a cancellation?

That would be great if you want to make the reservation. I can post it on the book club page. It looks like there are 5 Thursdays in May...do we want to keep to our habit of meeting on the third Thursday or go for the 24th? I'm good either way. Is 6:30 okay for a start time?

I've been to Tomfooleries. They have good appetizers and usually have drink specials. I've eaten lunch at Brio but never been there in the evening. O'Dowd's has a rooftop patio that might be nice, too. None of these places should be too crowded on a Wednesday night. I'm good with whichever one you'd like. :-)
I think that's a GREAT idea! Sorry I've dropped the ball with this month's selection. End of April / beginning of May has been a little crazy for me!
I'm also good with Train Dreams or Gilead as our next selection, But I do really like the idea of a more casual social get-together. I think it's the perfect time for that going into summer. Any ideas on where to meet?
