I've moved around a bit and thought I was settling back home, but recently a great opportunity came up and it looks like I'll be moving again! I'm a smaller city (not small town) girl, so it seems like KC will be a good fit. We will see - although I've lived in other countries, I've never lived in the Midwest and have barely even visited. I'll be moving with my rescue American Eskimo, Buster, and will be trying to find the perfect mix between city living and easy access to places to take him. On the other hand, I want to be in the middle of things so I can get to know the city and some of its residents!
Why did you join KC Young Professionals?
Moving to KC shortly (early January?) from Long Island, New York for an opportunity in the transportation industry. I'm looking to meet new people, as I don't know anyone in KC but it seems like a great city.

Hi Cortney! Where will your job be? There are lots of great areas around the city but it's best to figure out where you'll be working and kinda find a place around there. YoPros love the Prairie VIllage/Waldo.Brookside area and Crossroads/Plaza/Downtown area...but if you're working in Independence then that might not be the best option for you :) It also depends a lot on what you like? Do you prefer urban or suburb? All that good stuff :)
Let me know when you come to visit, I'd love to take you to coffee even if we don't have an event scheduled while you're in town! :)
Very exciting...then you'll be right at home getting here in January...it's normally a little chilly :) Let us know if you come for a visit before then or definitely when you get to town and we'll throw you a party! If you need anything don't hesitate to let us know!
