Tell us about yourself.

I went to Kansas State University and graduated with a degree in Personal Financial Planning. I got a job full time with the firm that I interned with while going to school. I've been there full-time for 5+ years. We are a fee-only financial planning firm. We do comprehensive financial planning and investment management for high net worth individuals all over the country. In January 2011, the Kansas City Star featured me in their How I Got The Job column. I'm also active in the profession. I stay connected with the KSU Institute of Personal Financial Planning by serving as a resource to the students and faculty there. I am serving my fourth year on the board of directors for the Greater Kansas City Financial Planning Association. I started out serving on the Membership, Public Awareness, and Pro Bono committees helping further membership initiatives, raise consumer and community awareness of financial planning, and providing financial literacy education to non-profit organizations. I was a Director at Large for one year, Director of Membership for two years where I planned and coordinated professional and social events for our members, communicated member benefits, and spearheaded efforts to enhance the member experience. I am now the Director of Partnerships where I am responsible for fundraising, and managing relationships with all of our chapter partners. I am also chairing the committee that plans our regional financial planning conference that takes place in Kansas City every other spring. I am actively pursuing the Certified Financial Planner designation as I have completed the education and industry experience requirements. I am active within the St. Ann community in Prairie Village where I serve as chair of our parish Finance Council and Mass lector. I spend my spare time volunteering with a few non-profit organizations that I care about, including SAFEHOME, a Johnson County domestic violence shelter.
